My Story
At the age of 23, I had already been diagnosed with anxiety and OCD when I walked out of a hospital with a new diagnosis of depression. It felt like stepping into a new life, armed with only a handful of pamphlets that explained what depression is and its symptoms. And that was it.
Depression changed me and touched every aspect of my life. Routine tasks became huge hurdles, simple decisions became paralyzing, and those pamphlets didn’t tell me what to do when I had trouble going to work or when household chores became overwhelming. I felt embarrassed by my new struggles and very lost and alone. Counselling would have greatly helped but it can be expensive and not always accessible.
Motivated by my journey, I launched this blog to foster a community where we can openly discuss these challenges. Drawing from my own experiences, insights gained through counselling, and a variety of resources, my goal is to facilitate mutual learning and encourage open dialogue about the everyday struggles faced by those with mental disorders. Together, we can work towards normalizing these conversations, shedding light on the often unseen realities and improving our mental health. Thank you for visiting MindSweeper Collective!
